Volleyball is a game where two teams bat the ball with their hands over a high net.

  • Opposite hitters are opposite of the strong left side hitter, playing behind the setter. Their responsibilities include swinging from front and back row, right-back defense and blocking the other team’s outside hitter.
  • The middle blockers hit fast-tempo sets from the middle court behind the setter.
  • The setter is responsible for taking the second ball and setting it up for one of the hitters to attack.
  • Libero wears a different colored jersey  and usually play in the back row. They are defensive and serve-receive specialists. They are fast and are able to change direction quickly.
  • The defensive specialist plays the back row and is responsible for playing defense and receiving serve.
  • The serving specialists usually have tough or very consistent serves.
