Orienteering is where orienteers use an accurate, detailed map and a compass to find points in the landscape.

How to Play

The objective of the sport is to use a map and compass to navigate a terrain and being able to complete the route in a specific time-limit. This is a sport to help those participating work on their navigational skills. The winner is the orienteer who has the fastest time.

Thierry Gueorgiou

Gueorgiou is a French orienteer and he has won more than 20 gold medals in international competitions and in the World Orienteering Championships. In 2000 he won 3 gold medals in the World University Championships and 2 gold medals in 2002. From 2005-2010 he has won either gold, silver, or bronze in the World Cup.  He has been named the “The King of Middle Distance”.
