Basketball is a sport played by two teams tossing the ball to their teammates to try to score a basket.
The objective of the game is to get the basketball into the net of the other team. The team with the most points wins. To begin the games the referee will toss the ball into the air and two opponents try to tap it to one of their teammates, called a jump ball. Different shots that players can make are layups, away from the basket, dunk or slam dunk. A layup is when a player jumps or lays the ball against that backboard so it will rebound into the basket.
