Being motivated means you need to build motivation through different types of methods. The two main types of motivation are intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation is what you desire to pursue based on your own beliefs, reasons, and self-interest. Extrinsic motivation is what makes you active from an outside source for different reasons, such as following people's expectations or following tasks from others. Within these motivations there are also other sub-categories. Reward based motivation or incentive motivation is meeting a goal in hopes of getting a reward at the end. Fear-based motivation is the reasoning that you are held accountable and failing could result into heavy consequences. Achievement-based motivation are focused on reaching a goal for the sake of having an achievement, which is something to look back on. Power-based motivation are those that find happiness in becoming more powerful after achieving a goal, which can be used as a benefit to change the world positively. Affiliation motivation focuses on the individuals social circle who have higher power positions for them and can someday become them. Competition motivation is the desire to outperform others in your group and to be the one at the top of the hill. Competence motivation is focused on improving what you're already good at and seeing if you can increase your skills to the next level. Attitude motivation is a kind of motivation that comes to those who intensely desire to change the way that they see the world around them and the way that they see themselves. Goals associated with self-awareness and self-change will be met with attitude motivation.
